The rally this year offers lots of important news.
First of all, the itinerary organised, this year again, by Corrado Deiana, perfect connoisseur of his Land, paths, dirt tracks, off-road trails and landscapes has concluded the reconnaissance and finalized all the routes.
The itinerary of this 3rd edition will arrive in Seui, from where we will come back with the ancient “trenino verde” (green train). The itinerary will also take you to Punta La Marmora (1834m), the highest summit of Sardinia. You will then cycle down to the pass of Genna Silana (more than 1000m) and then arrive at the beach of Cala Sisine, cycling through the Supramonte of Urzulei and Baunei.
The itinerary underlines how beautiful, unique, wild and still unspoiled is Ogliastra, which extends itself from the massif of the Gennargentu to the famous beaches of Cardedu, Barisardo, Gairo, Tertenia, Cala Luna, Tortoli’ and the red reef of Arbatax.
The coastline is characterised by imposing cliffs and natural bastions, which welcome paradisiacal sandy creeks, river outlets and canyons such as Cala Luna, Cala Sisine and Cala Fuili… but also crystalline waters, unspoiled seabed and marvellous caves such as “Le grotte del Bue Marino” where the Mediterranean seals still live.
But that’s not all. You will find an archaeological patrimony of nuraghi, domus de janas, tombe dei gigantic and menhir, testimony of a secular history which dates back around 2000 years b.c.
This is where this exiting and fascinating challenge will take you with the first two legs of the rally based in Arzana, the third in Urzulei and the last three along the sea of Cardedu, with only two transfers.
Moreover, the organisation has studied a formula, which with a small extra cost will allow you to stay in hotel or B&B.
