The countdown for the 1st Sardinia Trail has started

The countdown for the 1st Sardinia Trail has started: a cross-country race in the Sardinian nature. The stages will take place from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th April 2012 in one of the most wonderful places in Sardinia and, as the slogan says: “Un Paradiso tutto da Correre”, A stunning place for all to run, between the Gennargentu and the wonderful beaches in Cala Gonone (Dorgali) with the marvelous and peaceful village of Fonni.

The countdown for the 1^st Sardinia Trail has started: a cross-country race in the Sardinian nature. The stages will take place from Friday 27^th to Sunday 29^th April 2012 in one of the most wonderful places in Sardinia and, as the slogan says: “Un Paradiso tutto da Correre”, A stunning place for all to run, between the Gennargentu and the wonderful beaches in Cala Gonone (Dorgali) with the marvelous and peaceful village of Fonni.

The event is organized by the Good Looking Entertainment, former organizer of the Rally of Sardinia of Mountain Bikes in cooperation with the Sardinian Regional Ministry of Tourism and Sport along with the Municipality of Fonni. The testimonial of this event will be Marco Olmo, several times champion of the Ultra Trail, twice winner of the Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc and winner in several competitions all over the world.

There will be three demanding stages - for a total of 90 km (56 miles) with a difference in altitude of 1980,00 metres (6,500 feet) - crossing the territories of Fonni, Gavoi, Ovodda, Ovodda, Olzai, Villagrande, Desulo, Oliena and Dorgali. Athletes, from all over Italy as well as from Switzerland, France, Germany and Holland, will face all kind of tracks: mountain paths, mountain mule tracks, rough terrains and last and not least, clean and beautiful beaches.
